If you want to avoid the drive down, you can hop a plane into Marathon. At mile maker 61 you will find Duck Key, famous for Hawk's Cay Resort. Prices are around $45 per person for a 90 minute boat ride. Prices also vary with the differing services, so you should check it advance to see how much it will be. Most of the airboat operators are located within a one hour's drive from Orlando.
